Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, and how to make us delete it. In plain language, because a policy nobody can read protects nobody.
The short version
We collect an email address if you choose to give us one, so that we can tell you about the festival. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone. You can get off the list at any time, and we will delete your address when you ask.
Who we are
This site is run by the Houston Polish Festival, a volunteer-run event hosted at Our Lady of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church, 1731 Blalock Road, Houston, Texas 77080. For anything in this policy, contact us at info@houstonpolishfestival.com or 832-861-1277.
What we collect
Newsletter signups
If you subscribe, we store the email address you enter, the first name you give us if you choose to give one, which form you signed up from, and the date you ticked the consent box. That is all. The name is optional and the newsletter works perfectly well without it. We do not attempt to work out who you are from your address.
Emails you send us
If you email us about visiting, volunteering, a vendor booth or sponsorship, we keep that correspondence so we can answer it and follow up the next year. Vendor and sponsor records are kept as long as the business relationship is active.
Server logs
Our host records standard technical information for every request: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is ordinary web-server behaviour, is used only to keep the site running and to investigate abuse, and is not combined with anything else to build a profile of you.
What we do not do
- We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels, and we do not run third-party advertising on this site.
- We do not sell, rent or trade your information to anyone, for any purpose.
- We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that make the site work: our web host, and the email service that delivers the newsletter. They process this information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We will also disclose information if the law requires it.
How to unsubscribe or be deleted
Every newsletter email has a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. We do not send a confirmation email when you sign up, so the only message you receive is the newsletter itself. To have your address removed entirely, or to ask what we hold about you, email info@houstonpolishfestival.com. We will action it within 30 days.
Photography at the festival
The festival is a public event, and we photograph and film it for the website and social media. If you appear in a photograph you would rather we did not use, email us describing the image and we will remove it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and access to the subscriber list is limited to the committee members who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not store payment details or any sensitive personal information on this site at all.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. The current version always lives at https://www.houstonpolishfestival.com/privacy-policy.
